How Often Do We Think About Money?

How often do we think about money in a day? Once? Twenty times? Or how about every few seconds of every waking hour?

For many of us—money isn’t just a thought; it’s a constant presence. Whether we are entrepreneurs striving to grow our businesses, professionals climbing the career ladder, or mothers balancing financial obligations, money conversations follow us everywhere.

From invoices waiting to be paid, reminders of rising business costs, or concerns about how to secure funding as a minority-owned business, financial pressures can feel overwhelming. In the workplace, we might battle the gender pay gap or fight for opportunities that seem more accessible to others. If we’ve built our businesses from the ground up, we may struggle with financial confidence, hesitant to charge our worth or ask for the funding we deserve.

Let’s take a deep breath together.

We live in a world where money dominates so much of our existence. It dictates where we live, what opportunities we have, and even how we perceive our own value. But money alone does not define us. It is a tool—one that, when managed with intention, can empower us to live a life of true meaning.

Aligning Financial Stability with Personal Fulfilment

Many of us either over-identify with money—allowing it to dictate our worth—or shy away from financial conversations altogether. We might categorise ourselves as successful business owners, struggling entrepreneurs, investors, or even those “just getting by.” But labels don’t define us. Our financial journey is unique, and the key to true success lies in balancing financial security with personal fulfilment.

For example, many women in business start their journey out of passion but soon face the challenge of sustainability. A talented baker who turns her hobby into a business might struggle with pricing her products competitively, or an independent consultant may find it difficult to navigate self-employment taxes and retirement planning. Meanwhile, BAME entrepreneurs often face systemic barriers to funding and investment, making financial literacy and strategic planning even more crucial.

The Awakening: Redefining Financial Success

What if, one day, we woke up and realised that financial success isn’t just about accumulation? That life isn’t about working endlessly with the hope of someday “making it” but about using money as a vehicle to achieve what truly matters?

For many, this realisation comes after a life-altering moment—perhaps a sudden career change, a personal loss, or even the exhaustion of burnout. We begin to ask: What is the real purpose of all this financial striving? What does wealth mean beyond just numbers in a bank account?

This moment of awakening often leads to financial and personal transformation. It becomes less about materialism and more about impact.

I work to integrate meaning and money in people’s lives.

This is my mission—to help individuals, especially those who have been historically underserved, align financial goals with personal purpose. Will you join me?
